Mahavir Kmina fulfills 10 years providing free prosthetics
The Mahavir Kmina Corporation, the institution that provides free prosthetic legs for amputees, turns 10 years old in 2017. In this decade, Kmina has managed to give more than 3,400 human beings the opportunity to walk again , rebuild their self-esteem and regain their independence.

On August 23, Mahavir Kmina celebrated his first ten years of social work at the Medellín Museum of Modern Art. The event stood out for its emotionality and for a forceful message:overcoming adversity is possible.At least that was demonstrated by the incredible displays of talent from some of our grantees.
During the last ten years,Mahavir Kmina has benefited more than 3,500 people from 74% of the national territory and eight countries in Latin America."Many of them are going back to work, recovering their social life and rebuilding their family ties," says Juan Rodrigo Mejía, executive director of the Corporation.
3,500people benefited
Although an important group of people has been impacted, the cause still has a lot of work ahead of it. "Mahavir Kmina covers an important gap in the Colombian Health System, the number of people who call us day after day is increasing and we hope to continue our efforts to give them the support they need," says Jesús Alberto Plata, technical director of the entity.
