Our technology
Mahavir Kmina employs a technology that It is characterized by its simplicity. Our prostheses were developed in such a way that they could be manufactured quickly without compromising their quality and, consequently, the rehabilitation of the beneficiary. At the Corporation, we require onlythree to five business daysfor the manufacture of a Durable, light, fungus and bacteria resistant prosthesis, suitable for heavy work and tailored to the beneficiary.
From India to Colombian lands
Technological cooperation agreement
The technology we used was developed by the BMVSS Foundation(Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti) in Jaipur, India, and shared with our founding members through atechnological cooperation agreement; Thanks to this, the Mahavir Kmina Corporation was born, becoming thethe only organization to use this type of technology in Latin America.
Through that agreement, signed on March 5, 2007, the BMVSS Foundation transmitted to the recently founded non-profit organization its specialized knowledge, its technique for manufacturing prosthetic devices and the use of jaipur foot.
The foot of Jaipur
The Jaipur foot is one of a kind. Unlike other more conventional feet, this one is essentially made from vulcanized rubber, the same material from which car tires are made. Thanks to this, Jaipur foot is more flexible, resistant and durable. In addition, it allows the user to carry out heavy work, is waterproof and can support up to four tons of weight.
Our prosthetics
The main characteristic of the prostheses that we make in our production center is their low cost, this is due to the type of raw materials we use and their rapid manufacturing method. Our prostheses are resistant to harsh harsh weather conditions and work better on uneven surfaces than other prostheses, making them ideal for rural life.
Here are some of its main qualities:
Featherweight
Compared to similar technologies, our prosthetics are among the lightest.
To measure
All our prostheses are manufactured in a personalized way.
fast manufacturing
In speed we have no competition. It took us a day to make a prosthesis.
super strong
Our prostheses are made of resistant materials. They support up to 250 kilos.
moisture resistant
Our prostheses are waterproof, you can get them wet without any problem.
Economic care
Many of the damages that can arise are easily solved at home.
Exomodular and Endomodular Prostheses
Mahavir Kmina flagship prosthesis falls into the category of exomodular prostheses, which means that its coverage is, at the same time, its support. Although this type of prosthesis has lost validity with the development of new endomodular technologies (in which the support is internal), it has multiple advantages with respect to these.
Currently, the Corporation has also implemented endomodular-type technology as part of its range of prosthetic devices, but exomodular continues to be the most widely used.
Modular prosthetics
Endomodular prostheses, also known simply as modular, are characterized by being extremely light and quick to assemble. Its design allows adapting a polycentric knee; that is, with multiple axes of rotation, which improves the user gait. This type of prosthesis is optimal for daily life, especially in older adults.
Exomodular prostheses
Exomodular prostheses are identified because their coverage is, at the same time, their support. They look similar to a human leg and, like the endomodulars, they are fast to manufacture. This type of prosthesis is more resistant to shocks and severe weather conditions, which makes them more suitable for heavy work and country life.
